Wasn't quite as bad up in the hills as we had the rain. But going out to Cuddley creek ther was reports of fires starting every 5 minuts or so. most were not actauly fires but it did create chaos.

had three fires in our area (hills) started by lightning just the other day.... one was semi-decent size burning in some steep terrain, which made for a good time before being sent on a changeover crew to humbug scrub.

Thats about what i'll be doing SA Firey but since we might have a couple of newbie volunteers joining up who have already done their fire training with another brigade i might have to let them go out however if i happen to be nearby to a local fire station like Wandilo or Tarpeena when theres a big fire i'll respond with them  :-D

If only i had of gotten a USB download cord with my Nokia 6233 i could've downloaded that video footage of MFS responding to k-mart for a fire alarm yesterday onto my computer  :-D

MFS photos aren't much good for the CFS Promo site   :-(

If anyone does have recent photos of any CFS activities, that might be suitable for the Promo site, please email them through to me   pip@fire-brigade.asn.au

Mind you pip yesterdays footage i took of MFS responding was once in a blue moon shot as it may never happen again for a while or at least until an actual emergency occurs in K-mart  :-P :-D

Suggestion Rob...change your settings so it saves it to the Memory Card instead then you can take it out and use the card reader to get it onto your PC

I'm not disputing that...just that it is the CFS Promotions Unit website, and hence doesn't have a lot of MFS photos / footage on it!

I am seeking photo of CFS appliances, and of CFS members doing their stuff.....

Plenty of activity still down here in the SE. Strike teams heading of to Dergholm to assist CFA as well as region 3 brigades in the upper south east still running around at flare ups and re-kindles.

Spent the night in Dergholm last night.  They gave us 10 DSE lightning units to run around in.  Most impressive, they go through just about anything.

I suspect not all of them are flare ups... some look like new fires - there have been around 1670 strikes in SA in the last 24 hours.....
