I wonder why they took it down. Seems a bit of an over reaction. A few different sites is a good thing.

He he that would of been funny to see. If the Pt. Augusta boy's are smart i would be getting some unoffical currency out of the coppers to get them out of the mud in the way of a carton or two of something!

would think they were probly taken down by whoever due to it being illegal to re-broadcast such things... ?

alex you shouldn't use words like "illegal" unless it's true and when it comes to the subject of pager decoding and publishing or rebroadcasting (2 different things by the way), and scanner rebroadcasting, it's very grey indeed.  I don't believe any of the above are illegal (despite what your boss may tell you) but the fact is until there is a test case and a judge decides one way or the other it's all speculation.

If you wanna discuss the legalities of pager messages take it to a new topic.

http://www.sacfs.org/paging is up

Not any more. That website says:
This has been removed due to the URL being posted to a public web forum.

Pity, I rather liked it.

The pager site from Victoria was removed last year due to legal action that was going to be taken by the state government......

I cured my pager site withdrawal.
I'm now on the patch:

Instructions for use:
Cut out, stick on arm, and wait for abuse from fellow brigade members...

Im sure there is more to the story and this is only what someone high up mentioned in passing, and the Vic sites suffered the same fate.

Yes, please do, someone offers the reason and you say its wrong, why is it wrong, sounds like a good enough reason to me, although having seen the Pt Lincoln nuffers site, I wouldn't be to happy having my name attached to pager messages going back and forth, if only it had been left as just messages , but some people take it to far!

Care to elaborate?

for various reasons, no sorry.  Although I will point out the telecomms ombudsman has nothing to do with it, see http://www.tio.com.au/ for what they do.

if the owners of the paging sites want to post about what's up with their particular site then that's up to them.
