i'm sure the Mets don't mind...a short trip across the square once a days keeps the stats looking good....

and probably justifies at least a couple of $ million in ESL funding every year too!

Also helps pay for all those new Scania's

Surely the false alarms at the Remand Centre are getting ridiculous. If smoking is banned from Government Buildings, why not the Remand Centre also?

MFS will soon be able to buy a new appliance with the cash they rake in from attending alarms at the Remand Centre.

EIGHT alarms at the Remand Centre between 18:00 and 23:59 Thursday 2nd December. Didn't even bother looking before 18:00hrs, but wouldn't be surprised if there are even more. Are MFS even bothring to get in their trucks to attend these anymore?

Surely this is getting beyond a joke........... what are MFS doing about this? Who is the brain who designed the fire alarm system for the Remand Centre?  What will it take for someone to do something? For a delayed response by MFS to a real incident caused because they're attending yet another false alarm at the Remand Centre. Are MFS even charging for the attendance fees?

Why not ban smoking int he cells, wouldn't it be a simple fix to the problem. You can't smoke in a hospital or government building, so why is the Remand Centre any different. CRAZY!!!!!!

Almost worth moving the MFS Station to the Remand Centre, the response time would be amazing.

I'd welcome your thoughts from your forumites.

You will find that many units that go to the Adelaide Remand Centre are usually K3 (Available to run) withing 5 minutes if there was a major scale emergency. The only time the Remand Centre causes anguish to MFS is when they have lots of EMERGENCIES, this means the units like Prospect and others have to cover the Adelaide base. This then results in stations being thrown out of kilt because of these changes. However, on a quiet day at the office, think about how much money the MFS will get for a call out, only a couple of km's away. I do agree that they should ban smoking in the building, but with the money the MFS are getting, they are able to buy the new scania's.

Cheers Mike

0800 - 1800 mon to fri [excluding public holidays]it is a reduced response... unfortunately it is usually after 1800 that they dial up the sensitivity on the system and MFAs occur.
