Adelaide unleaded petrol prices back under $1 a litre at BPArticle from: The AdvertiserNovember 24, 2008 03:55pmFUEL outlet BP On The Run has dropped its unleaded petrol price under $1 a litre for the first time in years.AdelaideNow has been told the price will remain at 99.9c/L until Wednesday.Readers reported the price was changed at the BP On The Run on West Tce in the city at about 3.30pm.The RAA says unleaded prices have not stayed below $1/L for a sustained period since 2004.Just months ago the unleaded price was 173c/L, but the plunging world oil price has seen fuel prices dip dramatically in recent weeks.Oil closed at US$49.93 per barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange overnight - meaning prices have dropped nearly 66 per cent since reaching a record $147.27 a barrel in mid-July.BP's move will raise pressure on rival fuel companies to follow suit.
