new 34p

I understand that there is a list floating around with the large amount of problems/defects on the last lot of 34p that where ment to have been fixed after sitting soooo long at NORTHEAST and have been sent out to brigade's only to be sent back and leaving the brigade's with out an appliances for some days if not weeks....Tell me do those at the top when they get the appliances doing any testing with them or just hand them out??? Does any body have a copy of the so called list of defects??

Here's hoping the 34P's made by Varley are ready to go into service not long after delivery instead of more than a year. Does anyone know why it took so long to rectify the problems with the last lot?

Heard they were due may/june? Have seen a photo of a varley built 34, looks similar to a 34P. BTW there are still 2 34P's sitting at MFS workshops 1 X Cape Jervis and 1 X Yankalilla.

I did here june/july they will be here in SA and then will need to be tested by TECH SERVICE before they hand them out to those that are getting them..the new 34 looks ok mind you the hose reels where ment  to be 60 meter's long but are only 30meter's...

Is there any reason that the manuafactures keep changing?
Is there something wrong with the Mills Tui units?
Would have thought that sticking with one builder would be better.

Yeah a few issues with the last batch of 34P's. A couple of major but mostly minor irritating stuff!

the last CFS brigade i was in had a 34P while responding to a job at 3am one of the lockers fell of the truck. the tray was bent from the weight of the whole back end and the locker had stress fractures in it which we couldn't see so go belting down the road at 3am get to the job and wonder why our 24 is so far behind us the we noticed a missing locker 24 had found it and hadn't told us we had lost it the #34P went back that day to be fixed only the third time a locker had been broken on that brigades trucks

sesroadcrashrescue is correct. One of the main problems is the tray used on this batch is not strong enough for what it is carrying, hence flexing and lockers cracking. Ours has done the same.

Are you sure it was a 34P? Which locker was it? Theres only two individual lockers I can think of that if they actually did come away may have fallen off, otherwise you'd be losing 2 lockers in one (ie the BA and RCR locker) and I think you'd notice the side of your truck had suddenly disappeared.

You mean the first lot of Australian Fire Co built 24P's, I think everyone has damaged one of those, thats nothing new or exciting and has nothing to do with the new one's.

So it was driver related more so than faulty manufacturing.

Was it an SEM or Mills-Tui build?

Nice work. Blame the Manufacturer for a problem caused by scheiße driving.

it was comming off before te driver hitt it we thought we had fixed it afert the driver hit it but the screws and rivets let go and it fell of so it had been repaired before it fell off

went to the lowest bidder who was probably then beaten with a stick to force price down further, which eliminated 'fat' for QC and pre-delivery fixing.  It's a wonder that any reputable manaufacturers still deal with HM SA Govt..
