Bill Jamieson is also a station officer at Christie Downs MFS
Not anymore, haven't seen him on the trucks for a couple of years now, but he has always been a bit anti CFS. He was always ok on the job but has been a regular in the local paper having a go at our response times etc.
This weeks 'Southern Times' Messenger Press newspaper gives a front page article on Onkaparinga Council detailing to SAFECOM a study by Planning SA that fire response times are inadequate in their area.
We had a look at that map last week, it is absolute bollocks.
According to the map brigades like Happy Valley, Seaford, Aldinga Beach and Sellicks can't get out the door and to a job out the front of their station within 8 minutes of the pager going off. This allows 3 minutes to get to the station and 5 minutes travel time at normal road conditions.
This is based on GIS spatial data and takes into account hills and roads etc, it has nothing to do with historical data of any kind. There is even areas not far from the Christie Downs MFS station that the map shows MFS can't get to in 8 minutes.
The whole map makes very little sense and the U.F.U. seem to have just jumped on it before anyone can point out that it is a crock of scheiße.
