Road crash
« on: November 16, 2008, 03:12:00 PM »
Looking on the adelaide now website, i found a story on a RCR at williamstown last night. Its says they had to wait for specialised cutting equipment from loxton-150kms away. I realise it's in CFS territory but Gawler MFS which has a pump/rescue is only like 15 minutes away.Surely for a vehicle accident this bad, they can call on the best/nearest resource rather than waiting this long. Even still, the heavy rescue truck at headquarters is closer, only about 50km/s away.

And considering Loxton only has rapid intervention equipment, makes the story even more laughable!!

The online versions of many stories on the news websites are so inaccurate, and in some instances, completely wrong....... this would be another one.

If you look at the pager site, Williamstown was called to the incident...and nothing from the Riverland...!

For the record Williamstown did the cut out without any need for other equipment, Lyndoch and Concordia set up the landing site at the local oval.
Where this information about Loxton came from has even got us baffled!

What a waste of a beautiful car thou

I believe there was a road crash dispatched in riverland area at a similar time... perhaps the concept of two seperate incidents in the country at the same time was too much for them.

Could have been reference to Loxton SES which have the equipment...

Andrew, Pip was refering to SAMFS, she knows about Loxton SES & its equipment(I was going to say something at the time, but thought better of it  ). As was previously said "some one got mixed up".
Best to keep right out of this one - not a SES area, not SES's problem.
Anyway how are things? Keeping out of trouble?
