Baseball caps - rank markings
« on: February 19, 2008, 09:23:37 PM »
Would rank markings on baseball caps be appropriate or usefull ,like when on strike teams or would it be usefull to have strike team leader velcro style patches to put on your cap ,when on deployments so your easily identifiable without wearing a tabbard ,not in place of them but to make it easier for when your on a break.
Just a thought and a question.

If you're on break does it not mean that you are not in your current position of responsibility?

Not to mention some people don't wear baseball caps/hats.

How about a duty wear shirt with epaulets? :P
To think they employed me as a drooling retard...

I think there is enough rankings and markings going on already.

Let one person be in charge of the incident & wear the tabard. Several times this person might not be the Unit Manager or Rescue Officer, because a specific person has the specialised skills (eg builder by trade).

Everyone is responsible for their part in a safe & efficent operation. Like the acronym KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid).

This suggestion comes about from being on deployments, whilst being on a break and having currently operational people looking for(not me) the strike team leader(resting) in a sea of firefighters all wearing the same uniform ,with no tabbards on ,to give them operational updates, taskings, information .Maybe this would make it easier to quickly identify the required individual. Unfortunately it would seem that even though they are on a break their responsibility doesn't end as there seem to be ongoing issues that are being asked to deal with.

Right region , WAAAAAAYYYYY wrong person.
