That is a harsh comment & is far from the truth. In fact the reason for this particular thread was to show how another state does it!
And I know of the equipment and other issues around the state as far as SES is concerned - I do travel!
I'm also well aware on the activities of the CFS, I also know what a great job the rescue brigades as well as the other brigades do.
A common thread is a) lack of equipment b) lack of common standards.
I have never said that RCR arrangements were as you described (love that word).
However wouldn't it be nice that when we talk rescue - RCR in particular, we all sing from the same page?
That whether it be a SAMFS, CFS or SES RCR unit that they all meet the same standard in all aspects and if they don't there is a process to fix the problem?
I'm am sorry if you believe this is an attack on the fire services, its not!
If it was decreed tomorrow that the local SAMFS station would be taking our equipment & role personally I don't care! Afterall that was the original plan when I was moved to this unit (well role anyway - equipment to another location)!
So to clarify:-
1) No I don't believe CFS "play" rescue!
2)Yes there are some units/brigades that are struggling & require help!
3)That I don't believe the SES is the be all and end all of rescue! Never have Never will.
4) No its not a "Big cluster" but it could be improved, it it was a "cluster" then there would be more media exposure
Finally if I get the chance, I would love to have a look at a big brigade, can you suggest one?
cheers
