Any strike team damages or losses are meant to be picked up by the region where the fire is.

We were told it would be picked up by DEH, not sure how accurate that is though given that not all the fires were on DEH land.

Check with your Group administration officer they should know.

As for stuff going missing I hope that is a genuine mistake or mix up of equipment.

We are missing one VHF off our appliance but hey it happens, better to send them over fully operational as for handing out VHF's at staging areas I could see that falling into a big hole!

If VHF's are missing I would be asking all Groups involved to do an audit on all their radios, and see who has got more than they were issued.Remember all VHF's have serial numbers and are flagged with CFS HQ and Tetracom as to who they were issued to.

It would be a sad day to think that other CFS brigades are stealing from within their own organisation to gain an extra one.
