Well what a way to end the day just after 7pm last nite we where paged for a scrub fire at frances 35kms nth of Naracoorte by the time we got there 6 units had it contained so we came home. The sky show on the way home was very nice but the group was keep busy till around 2300hrs with a second fire SW of lochaber burnt 30 hct the region sent the water bomber to help the poor VIC CFA with the 20 or so calls they had and they have a large fire still burning this morning.

Tatiara had some 9 fires at one stage and one was still burning when I went to bed last night,one would hope that its a quiet day and that the wind does not come that has been forecast for the day.

Was quite a speccie sky show. Well we've headed toward Coonalpyn the last two nights; touching wood, not tonight please. A nice lot of rain would be good. Got an invite to Keith to paper shuffle, sadly had to decline, work and family and all that. Hope all goes well there for the crews and IMT people today. Weather does not sound all that promising.

Hi all we where paged at 1155hrs for a strike team to keith to help at a fire coming out of scrub into private land around MT rescue area,we send 3 naracoorte units and stewarts range made up the team from lucindale group. I have sent a few pictures(230) to vfba promo unit. Today crews from region one/three/five are working on the firefront.

How many units at Narcoorte? With three out of station do the neighbouring Brigades go on standy or do change of quarters to cover you? Or have you got enough left to cover it? You've got a specialised Rescue Vehicle and an urban pumper haven't you? I guess they have to stay in local response area? Just seems odd to take three appliances out of one station. Just curious!!

Naracoorte strike team was made up of hynam34,boollagoon 24,lochaber34 and stewarts range 34 from lucindale group anlong with car one. Once mobile a group page was issued letting brigade know that the team had left and advising the remander of the group that 3 naracoorte group units where gone.Naracoorte brigade only manned our rural crews that where short of numbers in total only 5 naracoorte members went.That left a full crew at naracoorte for our 34.The outlaying brigades where units where taken from Naracoorte can and does respond faster due to our turn out time.

We also have a back up of old CFS units that are part of the private farm unit fleet with in the group,It should also be noted that before this strike team that the night before the group was busy with lightning strikes but also sent 3 units over to Victoria to help the CFA at one of their many fires.
