Heard today that a letter went out to the previous selection cohort advising of a whole new intake / selection process starting in Feb 2016...

Anyone here been selected (or previously been through) ARFF recruitment.

I have a BiL who's been advised to complete a "Mechanical, Verbal, Talent Screener and Spatial" online test in addition to a Work Styles test.

Would welcome any info / tips that people might have to inform him of the process and assist.

Brother in law got a thanks but no thanks but stay fit letter.

I noticed that his letter was numbered and wondered whether this was the ranking process of the "keep fit" group or whether it's some other reference (alphabetical or otherwise)...?!?! His letter was number 14 but does have a last name starting with 'C'..

Any thoughts..???

If you want particulate protection in fire situations then a form of P2 mask is recommended - bandanas etc offer absolutely no respiratory protection whatsoever. If fact have been as providing a false sense of security.

But you make a very valid point about the P2 mask - they need to be fitted correctly and changed frequently to be effective..

I have no idea but maybe it's of no help to make an inflammatory remark about an organisation and not put your name to it and not cite specifics examples of issues AND to let the forum know that you have shared any formal complaints that you might have with the Department of Health & Ageing (who issue the NEPT) licence..!!!

Out of curiosity, is there room for the Adelaide Fire Operator to edit/alter the job types to either favour or detract from a particular agency..??? And are there CFS / SES members who work in there that could also skew the type of response etc..???

Alex, you are correct.
There are various SDMs, that rotate shifts...

They have operational responsibility for whole of SAAS during the shift..

St John has utilised reflective markings for the last 30 - 40 years. The present day St John marked fleet has a similar amount of 'reflectivity' as most CFS / MFS / SES primary appliances. I would imagine that the current livery review will consider whether additional reflective material use will form part of any new livery designs.

As for the emergencies that St John responds to / attends, well let me see, the list is endless...!!!!

There is everything within an event scope, from cardiac arrest, respiratory arrest, traumatic injury, medical illness, alcohol / drug affected patrons, I could go on and on..

St John also supports a wide range of emergency response at large, complex incidents such as fire, flood, storm events etc. It provides a range of services such as responder welfare management and provision of Health Services. St John also provides support to relief centres ensuring that a level of Health Service is provided to displaced persons affected by emergencies.

St John has several signed MoU's with SAAS regarding service delivery in emergencies.

I trust that the above clarifies the "emergencies" that St John has, does and will be attending.???

Am not certain as to what you are trolling for in this scenario...

At the present moment, St. John marked fleet are registered as ambulances, St John has transport capabilities and operates in day, low visibility and night time conditions.. For these reasons alone, there is a desire to ensure that both the iconic St John branding be shown in a contemporary, modern way as well as ensure that general operational and emergency visibility is maintained. Visibility is enhanced through the use of reflective material and emergency lighting (red / blue), as well as general purpose, work area lighting.

The stats on their website look pretty 'normal' to me...

Although I am not in CFS, I think that their data is great for raising the professional profile of both the organisation as well as a sound recruitment tool..

(I do wonder about all of the info pages that are sent, but if the recipients dont mind receiving them AND they have a resource to send them AND the messages add value to the role that CFS is undeetaking during the incident AND they aren't in breach of any policy, procedure and protocol - then meh what does it matter..!!! lol)  8-) :lol: :lol:

Just asking..???

Just wondering if it s me or a current bug / glitch in the site.
I have been getting a "banned user" message on my mobile device (iphone) on various occasions over the last few weeks..???

It sometimes rectifies after several (read - numerous) attempts to get back in or I leave it for a period of times (usually 12 - 24 hours) before trying again.

I did note that when I tried to log into a PC at work shortly after I started a new job in late January that it detected that the IP address was a banned IP addressed and as such I cannot log in from work.

Just thought I would flag it for discussion - I am not aware of conducting myself in any way that would have seen me ACTUALLY banned from the site and am hoping that its just a tech glitch..

You would want to be very careful from a liability POV in case some damage occurred during the emptying or filling process.. A homeowners insurance may not pay out and they may look to CFS to repair / make good any damage etc and this could be especially costly if it involved pool liners / actual integrity of the pool itself etc.
