I never said who I was talking about, I didn't even mention what brigade or group they where from.  I bet if the CFS sent some one around every brigade in the state there would be a number of members who would fit into the '6%" catergory who don't attend training and who's compedidence is somewhat lacking

I agree with KDOO_BTO, there are members on here who shoot their mouth off on a regular basis who go quiet as soon as training at brigade level is mentioned. As for slander I never saw any names or places mentioned but if the hat fits WEAR IT. I would be very surprised if every group in the state did not have at least 1 of these types of people in them

Sitting back guzzling rum at about 0200 hrs this morning in the doo there was a fair bit of light work to the south east of town.  I suspect that could of been the cause of the fire on the border this morning.  All quiet now I say its time to get some more rum and worry about it when it happens

Although there are few forests up at Naracoorte.

Some of the recommendations have been-

1  Move the boundry between upper and lower SE from the northern boundry of the Naracoorte district council to the Southern boundry between Naracoorte and Wattle Range.
or
2  Work on Grassland FDI's until the grass is 100% cured and then change to Forest FDI.
or
3  Go back to the old system where 2 weather locations must go over to trigger a Total Fire Ban.

Just some fuel for thought. All comments and views welcomed

Filtered panic merchants. spread a semi load of petrol over a 10 acre paddock and it still would struggle to burn in the lower SE at the moment.

Robert I am pretty certain SAAS first responders are required to do a skills maintenance package each year just like members of St John do, this means they are actually required to turn up to Brigade training sessions to get their skills signed off. When was the last time you attended brigade training????????? If you where a member of St John you would have been asked to hand your uniform in a long time ago for not completing your skills maintenance. If you don't beleive me why not turn up to training and ask your BTO I beleive he is still a member of St John. :-D

You know that some brigades have more sets than operators, and there are a WHOLE bunch that only have as many operators as sets...

Even Kalangadoo has more BA operators than BA sets. 6 operators and only 2 sets. That second unit for Kalangadoo might be required after all. Maybe even splitting the brigade so there will be Kalangadoo Alpha and Bravo Brigades LMGDFAO :-D :lol: :wink: :evil:
