The only difference between SO's & RO's (besides a few nit picky things) is that SO's work from HQ/STC. I know a few SO's who's work balance is 80% Ops & Training/20% Admin...

And we are tft there is still ample coverage in place its not as if we are emptying every station in the state and leaving nothing for cover like i said before if you have nothing positive to say pull ya head in and stop spoiling it for those who do want to have a go no wonder i dont bother with this site much its full of idiots.

Pffft. Let Salisbury CFS play with lights and sirens on our city streets... It's not like they get to use them while chasing 321 code green for details.....well if they eventually get out the door that is...

The Data on the CFS website is reproduced off of CRIIMSON which is the most up to date information contrary to Zippy's beliefs. For day to day incidents they will remain going for 2 hours after the last entry in CRIIMSON.
For most incidents the only information in CRIIMSON is the initial response and acknowledements depending on how enthusiastic the operator is. The incident summary on the website is for public information. It is not intended on being a resource tracking tool for over-enthusiastic,information craving volunteers...

So have they announced who got the State Coordination jobs? It would be a good foot in the door in the world of Career CFS.

The rescue brigade in my group have a Fork lift with several attachments as well as props eg: water barriers, poles, powerline, crates and a mock stobie. Theres an abundance of scenarios that can be created.

We have done plenty of combined drills/scenarios with good results

There is a station (no names here) that has Oxyviva sets on all the appliances and one appliance I believe also carries a AED.

but i believe you can be a "rank-less" paid staff (eg. State Air Desk etc), and still be an officer as part of a brigade.

Operational paid staff are officers in there own respect eg. Staff Officers, SCC Support Officers's

So whos seen the CFSVA promo DVD? Didnt really do the services image any justice! Is it really that hard to wear a CFS Tshirt? Especially when you know you are getting filmed for a promo DVD! I mean we look like cowboys/girls. Sorry for the rant but professional image or lack of is a pet hate of mine.

Yeah, there is a standard, AS/NZS 4821:2006 - Firefighters Footwear, deals with the whole lot.

What does this standard mean in relation to International standards? Could only find the International standard when browsing the sites.

Interesting. I would have thought that haix style boots exceeded the standard.
