But I have no respect for them either.

If you think the CFS deliver service to the standard of the SAMFS you are living in Disneyland.
Why dont you have a look at the statistics, you cant bullshit them!

Well 24pumper I am a firie, that is an employee of a Fire Service (full time and professional).
If any CFS member introduces himself to me as a "firie", I will ask him what his real job is, then clarify that they are in fact a "VOLUNTEER" Firefighter.

First responders need to be onsite quicker than the nearest available SAAS unit, otherwise it defeats the purpose. This automatically counts out the CFS, on time alone.
The SAMFS are considering a proposal to become first responder under the new EB negotiations.

Perhaps you should consult a dictionary so you can look up "professional".

I believe that the Fire Service will be looking for quite a number over the next two years.

Im a realist not a stirrer.
I am currently at a Southern Station, Im not going to name specifics as I dont want any sooks complaining about my point of view.
In saying that, I have been IC at numerous incidents where CFS  have attended and lets say my opinion has alot of room for improvement.

I will gladly retire in a number of years, however in the mean time it will be my pleasure to work at the new Seaford station when it opens, and deliver a much more professional standard of service.

Hate to burst your bubble, but volunteers are not considered either full time nor "firies" by professional firefighters.

As a full time firie, with 20+ years on shift, am curious to see what other "firies" think of the vollies opinions being expressed on these pages.
