well, its taken me a while to find the certificate, but the course module number is PUASAR004A and is called "undertake vertical rescue".

G'day.
Got a question that i reckon someone here should be able to answer!?
I work in communications, and have recently completed a nationally accredited Tower rescue\rope rescue course..
just discovered that i cant find the national course number
, but i am just curious if this is the same rope rescue that you guys do.
I dont have a specific reason for asking really, just wondering...
Ill post the course ID number when i find the bit of paper saying ive done it.

Member of public was a young boy, maybe 10 or 12, with his mother. we arrived, and after a quick look it was decided to use the ladder and a ceiling hook to remove the kite from the tree, about 7 or 8 meters up.
only took 15 minutes, and, in my opinion, it was good Public Relations for the service.

yep.
theres an unbroken line of fluro lights down the sides, and a single light across the back.each side is controlled independently, so you can be working on the kerb side, and switch off the road side if you wanted.

well, a few months have passed. Everybody has had time to get used to the appliance.
i would say, as far as practicialti goes, it is an allround excellent truck.
there's been a few bugs that we have come across, but nothing that has been cause for concern, or taken more than a bit of effort to resolve.
I believe that there is a few more brigades with these appliances now. does anybody else here have one, and, if so, how are you finding it??

well, i finally got to do the course. Hard work, but great fun all the same.
they must have done away with 12 months in the service as one of the people on out corse has only been in 9 months..
i must say, the caterers at brukunga are incredible. the hardest part of the course was trying to limit how much i ate on the sunday!!!

TillerMan- sorry, dont have the measurements, but i can try and track them down when i am next at the stystion for you.
OMG-
the flaked hose is Brilliant.
I was the one who got the 38 off the truck at that job, and i was able to grab the branch and run with it almost like a HP line.
the 64 for the hydrant is the same. with a little bot of practise and some forethought it is excellent.

that's right. the type 2 has the rescue gear on the drivers side.
this is how the appliances are built by SEM, before they are released to CFS.
i think the reasoning behind this is that the full height locked on the passenger side is for BA & Hazmat, as is is safer there than on the road-side, whereas if you are at a job where the RCR gear is needed, you are most likely to have the road blocked, so it is safe to be working on the road side of the vehicle.

working in the communications industry, i can tell you that as long as you dont decide to stand directly in front of the Antennas you shouldn't be likely to have a problem.
far as i can tell, all the stories about phones and cancer come from people who fear technology and change.
people think "radiation", they think glowing in the dark and nuclear bombs.
as far as i know, you can use a mobile every day and never get aproblem. i know i spend several hours a day on my mobile, and the only problem is the people who are calling me

Alex is right. we have got some amusing pics from after the event, like the 6 drums of "BUDRITE" fertiliser, but nothing of the action.
i guess that is what comes of only having a crew of 6 on board, no-one has the time to take piccies until afterwards.

Well, Last night was pumpers baptism of fire, so to speak
house fire in eden, going quite well.
we had the 38 out and putting water on just as quickly and easily as a Hp.
Pump was excellent, flawless water delivery, even when opening and closing the 38, there was only a miniscule change in the pressure.
deliveries on the side are good, as there is far less to fall over when zipping about going to lockers and what not.
all in all, i think that all those involved were happy as pigs in the proverbial.
