Seems the comps are going to be in the Barossa this year.

Crankster, does it really bother you that much what appliances go to calls in other's areas? Or do you have shares in the shopping centre?

It's not actually his idea. A proposal was put to the CFS some time ago on this "idea".

SES crews over there must be stuffed, Vic sent some up with the last lot that went through. We're not the only ones to get interstate deployments then. Good luck to them.

I always thought that date stamp was just when it was made nothing more.

How does it make it stupid to wear a structure helmet to a bushfire? A structure helmet is all some people use, i personally have had no problems with wearing one for any type of job.

MFS yes, but spare no. I believe this is a 1946 MFS appliance, so not much good as a spare. Someone may have some photos, i think ive seen some on here before, was at the CFS demo at the show last year as well.

Might be picky but maybe better to have them coming rather than make a decision with what someone is telling you on the phone. I bet a few people have been caught out with something a lot worse than was originally explained on the phone. You can alway put a stop on them.

Some are being replaced at the 17-18 year mark, not sure if the truck is stuffed or they are just lucky. Edens pumper (the Ford) has been off the run for a while so its not still going strong.

But this wouldnt be a second hand truck, so there wouldnt be as many problems you wouldnt think. Would be dissapointed if they succeeded with their quest but only became a one off appliance.
