how many SES units are RCR responders?.....if you are looking to recruit more members for all Brigades, wouldnt it make sense to show the roles that all Units have?

http://www.fire-brigade.asn.au/Station_Find.asp and select SES in the drop box, and each Unit page details what roles they undertake. Usually the Road Crash Units have a 91 vehicle.

DRIVER TRAINING THURSDAY 8/12/11 ALL TRUCK DRIVER REQUIRED CONTACT ***** *****  - CFS Elena Info
Just saw this and cant find it on the promotions site as a brigade. Is it a new one or a re-named one?

It went to Roxby CFS Info.  Must be a typo on the PDW filter.

Emergency Vehicles / Re: New 24 prototype

I think they would be the DENR 34 appliances, 3600L and were to be called 44 appliances.
Cleland 34 is one of those from Moores I think.

SAAS / SAAS vehicle standard stowage
October 03, 2011, 09:18:43 PM
I am setting up some information about SAAS fleets, and am after someone who could assist with a basic stowage kit for a 'standard fleet' vehicle.

It is really for the major items, and the correct names used for these I am after, and any pictures would also be appreciated.

SASES / Re: SES familiarisation thread
July 20, 2011, 09:13:05 PM
Sorry to add to an old thread, but am doing some study on SES Units and would like to get some basic info.
What is the Unit building called, ie shed, building or station etc, and how does the vehicle numbering go, where the vehicle has a two digit number but the callsign is three.
Thanks in advance.

Saw an SES Unit leaving as we went past this arvo, two people in total? Do they have trouble getting crews to man units as well?

Country Fire Service / Re: CFS Royal Show stand
September 25, 2007, 01:06:03 AM
I enjoyed myself with the crews we had and the paid staff which came along.  Great for networking, and we had heaps of public through as well.

I caught up with Raggs while there, as he was the co-announcer for the grand parade so he is still around just for a bit longer.

I think the focus of the stand was understandable, to be bushfire ready, and we had lots of hills people through who had questions about what to do, and I even had our promotions unit laptop there so had a few updates as well.  Even some of our photos were on display.

The kids had a ball with the colouring competition which was very popular, so I think overall, it made a good impression.  We were also on the main path in for anyone coming in the South gates, so you cant get much better than that.

Just my thoughts and observations from a newcomer..

A good book is one by Joseph Wambaugh called Fire Lover, about a fire investigater in Southern California with a dark side.  True story and a good read with lots on the technical side.

Country Fire Service / State Budget cuts
April 10, 2007, 06:40:01 PM
I see tonight that the CFS as a whole has had to cancel numerous training courses because of 'budgetry concerns' which amount to $1.5M of savings.

Seems that Level 3, BA and other courses are suffering.

Looks like we might have to start meat raffles at the pub again to get ourselves trained, or just train ourselves and save more money.

Anyone with any guff on what is happening?  This has affected our brigade considerably.

Country Fire Service / Re: CFS FAQ's
January 03, 2007, 10:59:45 PM
We will have a detailed definition of the Pumpers in the CFS on our website shortly after having discussions with HQ.  There are certainly some broad statements about capacities and flow rates and I hope the pages we display will define these in line with the CFS model.

Looking at the database we have here, there are not many we found to be over the 3785l/m rating.  One is at Nuriootpa, and the other is at Millicent with 3800l/m.  The Dennis is another one I am attempting to find the details on.  I think I deleted the email.

It looks like the details will be in line with the NFPA definitions.
