Yep Marion PTS and ESS has moved to a new station at Edwardstown and Fulham, Salisbury and Campbelltown PTS/ESS has moved to Gepps Cross

Why not just have the SAFS? Run all the fire services under one roof and that way everything is more consistent and streamlined?

A SAAS volunteer has the same uniform, callsign, qualification (in some cases), ambulance and equipment as the paid staff. They get sent into paid station areas and vice versa. It doesn't seem that hard?

Does anyone know whether RTL's, MPS's ect get pager messages?

They do get pager messages, but what messages do you mean? As in do they get paged every time a job happens in their region?

yes

Not quite sure, I know they carry two pagers, a personal one and I assume a regional one. I have seen an RTL look at a pager and comment that a station in his region had a job.

SAAS / Re: IMS Ambulance Services

Cool. Just interested to find out how they were operated. I was familiar with field ambulances based on the Bushmaster and M113 and other armoured types of vehicles but had never seen a Sprinter based road ambulance in the ADF. Just interested to see what they are are used for and how!

I know what the ADF is and I know that a medic would use them...No need for a sarcastic answer.

I was wondering if it would be Nursing staff or field medic or someone qualified to a Paramedic type of level.

Under what circumstances are they used? From military establishments to public hospitals only? The Sprinter I have seen would not be very battlefield worthy.

Who operates the ADF ambulances? Are they Paramedics? Is it a special service within the ADF?

Mader is the company that fits out SAAS and pretty much the entire country with ambulances. Its likely Mader did this too. Get a pic?

It will be good when there is a Vacmat on every truck! I'm sure the ACTLs will like it!

No not necessarily. Cat A's will usually need an ICP, so a Lima will be sent (ACTL's are ICPs) for ICP backup or as a second car. If two crews are responded one of which includes an ICP, I don't believe the Lima will be sent. ACTL's do have other duties when they are on shift, so they are not always available to run.

What else are they going to find when the hospital moves ????

Lord knows?! Probably a whole bunch of catacombs that we don't already know about. Maybe some crypts and some prehistoric remains of a previously unknown species of dinosaur.

But it should be interesting and I'd love to see what else is there. When I was in the catacombs, I found a phone book from 1984!

22
Interesting! It's funny how these things turn up, like the WW2 shell found in an old bathroom there a couple years ago.

I suppose they would have made GTN in the hospital back then. Nitroglycerine becomes more unstable over time, so I'm not surprised everyone was a bit concerned!

Would have been good to see it go off!

23
Interesting. Why did they take it there? Is there a special reason? And how would they have transported it safely?

Does anyone know the circumstances around it's discovery and why it was at the hospital?
