Recently a brigade I know got a new appliances and when it came to looking over the appliance and the gear the brigade removed all the old gear from the old appliance and put it into the new appliance.When the regional officer asked them what they where doing they said there gear from the old appliance was better and it was...How many other brigade's have done this?? if there is a problem with the cheaper equipment that is coming on the appliances why is CFS and tech service's doing anything about it??? I also understand that the old appliances had a refit was sent to another brigade and guess what they did the same thing.....
i agree with the that brigades view...the older gear is much better and particularly the hoselines wind/roll up better. (38mm new is a pain in the donkey)
We did the same, swapped everything on both trucks as the new stuff was beyond garbage, would have got better gear from Cheap as Chips. We put all the new stuff onto the old trucks, and when they were refurbed the brigades that got them did the same, so there are 2 trucks going for disposal with brand new gear on them.
Just remember guys, everything you use was made by the cheapest bidder !!

A filtered Monkey could make better equipment then the scheiße that goes on the trucks these days, Yes I can understand some of the idea's the CFS are adopting to create more room (With those Break-Apart Tools), but if they where made good then yea we would probably use them but when you have a break apart broom that is either way to small or way to big, it makes it impossible to filtered use And that new Yellow 25mm is rubbish but I can see why the CFS wants Bright Fluro Yellow 25mm but get it made out of decent materials.
well we have bright flouro orange 25mm and it is brilliant however the materials do make it very pricey
Is this bright yellow hose actually HP booster hose to cope with the High Pressure srage on the new 34's????

Sorry meant the "proper" HP hose not the usual 25mm rubber on standard sidelines!!
