Ok,as most ofyou know we have a members who have a nick name that has been given to them by their brigade members,tell us how you got this name...My nick name is BLINKY BILL given to me by the Naracoorte captain at the time and it has stuck with me for the past 8 years. I got it as I look like blinky bill...My wife's nick name is nuttsy////
Two that have stuck with different groups of people.
* Muscles - first job from school was working on the factory floor making brake cylinders & car water pumps at Brompton. I could move the stillages of blank castings to near the machines, so the older guys stired me up.
* Macca - I get sick of being called michael, carmichael, etc, etc because of my family name Macmichael. Also, many others in a group are Andrew. So Macca is quicker & easier to remember for people.
My brother and his friends used to throw me on my back when i was a baby and every time i would say 'Oonga' when i tried to roll over. This is also the first word i said. It has stuck for 29 years!
