Has anyone had a phone call from the UFU asking for funds for a publication that they are doing??? We have had a few people in our area asking if the UFU was part of the CFS as they where very pushy on the phone asking for money??? Mind you our area is fully CFS so what is the go???
It might be worth giving the UFU a call and seeing if they are behind the calls or if there is another scam doing the rounds.
Sounds like a scam to me, but then again, wouldn't put it past the UFU!! They get their way with everything else.
This may be a stupid question, but why would the UFU be needing money? What would they be fundraising for?
I agree, sounds like it might be a scam. Best off giving them a call though, just to be sure...

They Might Just Be Fundraising, How Else Did They Get Your Number???
I Had A Look On There Website, However Could Not Find Any Info To Support Fundraising Efforts. (http://www.ufua.asn.au/)
Sounds like a scam!
Especially being pushy towards the money!
Well we now have a scam in the south east, a person calling the public and asking for donations to support the local SES unit and asking people to send cash. There was a big write up in our local paper and it must be that time of year for scams...
Can't be very good at doing their research, there is not SES within Cooee of Naracoorte!
People like that scheiße me....
Con-artists!
We Also Have Been Receiving A Lot Of Calls From People On VOIP. They Also Don't Speak English As A Primary Language, Which Makes It Even Harder To Get Rid Of Them As Well As The Lag From The VOIP.
I Just Keep Hanging Up Now With Out Even Saying A Word & They Have Stopped Calling, But They Were Called Every Day At Least Twice.
My common reply to annoying telemarketers and the like:
"Hello"
"Yes this is %#$@# from @%#^^# business, are you interested in some products?
"Hello"
"Ahh, yes sir, its @$%@$% from @#%$^ business, can you hear me?"
"Hello"
"Hello, can you hear me sir"
"Hello"
(they hang up - and never call again :D )
We had a call from the UFU at work. They were asking if we wanted to put an ad in or give a donation to a publication they were doing. They did sound pushy on the phone but the boss told them where to go. He would rather support CFS than MFS.
You would think they would understand, once you say no, you mean no, and not annoy you further by heckling for cash!
Some people are easily persuaded though....
