The mfs have a brand new scania command bus park behind the saas spot in station 20,,,,city station.... it has its emergency lights installed but not yet any signage, just a big red bus,,based on the scania coaches, similar to what premier stateliner use, but without the windows and luggage doors... any1 know anymore,,,
I also had the chance to take pics of 2014 grass fire/hazmat unit if people would like to see them
I understand the whole side of the bus slides out to create extra space inside. I saw it a few weeks ago at Scania workshop on south rd. Looks like a nice comms bus!!
It was on display at the Emergency Management Conference at the convention centre. This was the prelude conference before the World Police & Fire Games started.
Too many security people about to get a look inside.
Rumored to have cost 2.5 mill. Anyone able to confirm?
cant confirm but i was told it cost a LOT.
Apparently MFS are planning to use this bus as a more integral part of their operations unlike the old bus.
Sounds interesting.
Show pics!
2.5 million......... i doubt it :| cos thats a hell of a lot of bikkies.
but wouldnt be able to confirm.
$2.5 million is after the buildup which is including all the electronics going into it.MFB have ordered one similar but opted to put in a false floor for all the cabling, while MFS are running them through the bodywork
Ahh not $2.5million but it was alot, try closer to half that.
Get ready for this i heard 3 million- Bus, electronics the whole lot from an MFS guy in town. Apparently its the goods but wait for it no toilet. :-D

SES rent one often for major searches in bush environments. You can see the orange for miles.....
Yes MFB have a toilet on a pod, It's called the fire duty Pod with sinks etc aswell.
The new bus must not be in action yet, as it was the old one at the ICA fire
