Hi all
We are always interested in your feedback! Please use this thread to share your ideas on how to make safirefighter.com better.
No suggestion is too wacky, we want to see all your suggestions. :-D :-D :-P
Perhaps look at a new layout? Being totally serious, this site now looks like some tacky Sci-Fi fanboy site. The old layout was simple, good looking and most of all, effective.
Apart from that, its all pretty decent, although you're now expanding to step on OZfires toes.
i like the new look its great...keep the good work up

Just cos we are now allowed to post photos does not mean we are stepping on ozfires toes. Why should we post a photo on ozfire just so safirefighter members can see it?

Keep the feedback coming, we liike hearing the good and bad!
A new layout was needed due to technical challenges with the way the old site was constructed. :-D
Nothing wrong with sci-fi. The backrounds and borders are a huge improvement on the old site.
How about some porn?
You know naked fire trucks....

Hahahaha!
I'm not sure how useful it would be be, but should there be a forum that is only available to logged in members so the "sensitive" discussions can have a little more privacy? (If only from people stumbling in from Google...)?

Good Idea - Will be done!
New site looks great!

Cheers, Mat
im not sure what i think of the new coloru scheme, tends to make my eyes feel a bit strange
maybe just setup the board so you have to be logged in to view the forum, full stop.
Could you please get back the fox sports news links that were down the bottom of the page if possible? Always got a good dose fo sports news from them.

Click the Home button or main logo and then scroll to the bottom of the page.
Ah cool thanks for poitning that out.
Was good being able to see who was logged on...can't seem to see that when we are in the forum section...
It's there at the bottom of the main forum screen :-D
would be good if it was at the top...where it shows the number of posts etc... :?

Agrees :)
I will see if I can do that?????????? :|
I didn't mind the feature of being able to bring up all the posts that had occured since your last visit.. Saved sifting through all the pages and checking things twice..
Is it possible to bring back?
;)
Its at the top under the log in time, which is under your name
Well i'll be..
lol.. Thanks. 8-)
I agree that the whole forum should require logging in, i admit to being guilty of saying things that the gen public shouldn't see, and it would be good to be able to use the whole forum freely and not have to just use the members area. 8-)
when you timeout and get auto-logged out, it doesn't remember what posts you have seen so on next login shows all the ones you read before as "new" again.
also if I use the same browser window to read each thread from the "list of unread posts" window, then when I click the back button to go back to the "list of unread posts" window then it has lost the entire list and now thinks I've read them all. Opening each thread in a new browser window stops this.
(IE6 by the way, I know it sucks but my company chose it not me).
IE 6 is a bit like having a petrol pump on a fire truck

When you login choose the login forever option if the PC you are using allows cookies you will not be logged out.
the other problem must be browser settings or cookie related as I do not see this behaviour at all on IE6 or Firefox 2.
Is it just me, or do the times seem to be out of whack sometimes on the posts? Is this a timezone thing?
Check your profile you should see a time offset setting. Try altering that.

I'd say more like stabbing yourself in the face with a chainsaw, but that's just me :P
I just wet myself
Hi Guys
What about having a chat room that members can chat about different events and the good points can be open for forum topics later. Just an idea.
Negative is having few people join the chats.
stay safe guys

This was suggested in this thread (http://www.safirefighter.com/boards/index.php?topic=1117.new;topicseen#new) a few weeks ago... Not sure whats happening with it though - feel free to add your suggestions on the subject there.. :)
On the main intro page, can you put names underneath, or attach names to the photos that come up. Love seeing the photos, but sometimes would like to know, which station is that? or where was that incident.
Cheers
Is there a reason the forum clock is two and a half hours ahead of me?
It's not often I get confused about whether it's today, tomorrow, or yesterday, but this seems to be doing it for me!

Go to "Profile" (in the links at the top of the page).
Then click "Look and Layout Preferences" (On the menu to the left).
You can now change the "Time Offset" Value to be correct. Clicking auto detect will probably work...
Hope that helps...
Can some-one please advise me where "paging" and "paging1" pages disappeared to?
Why not go direct to the sites..
