in about 6 - 8 weeks
I was at the Mt Bold fire and a farm said don't drive over there you will get bogged.
I asked why he said
That a natural spring is near and when this part of his land gets water logged it is the change of seasons in about 6 weeks and he had been on the farm for a long time.
I guess only time will tell
also on the radio the other day, the ostriches are starting to lay their eggs and they only do this if the season is going to be good, just another story
RAIN..... What is rain :? i've forgotten what it looks like :-P

Ha ha, I think I know who you are talking about, would this be the same guy that came up and abused my crew for taking a 5 min break (this was around 11pm after we had been working our butts off). Amongst his tirade I remember him mentioning something about a natural spring and rain coming.
His neighbours said he was a little nuts and we shouldn't take him too seriously...
Looking at the Weather maps, rain is expected in the north tonight.. Quite a considerable amount..
SES North region have upgraded operational status because of risk of flooding on Thursday and Friday. New BoM website shows the potential really well http://www.bom.gov.au/jsp/watl/rainfall/pme.jsp?model=amnt&date=2007011912&state=sa&district=
150mm at Tanami Station on the news last night.Picture of a farmer standing in his sheep pen with water above his waste.....Gold :-D
will wait and see if we get any rain they are saying may be 5 to 10 mm of rain here in the south east....
Well it did come we got 52mm here and Hawker had reports of 125mm to 220mm of rain which washed out the floodways and now there are 4 metre holes in the road :-o
Would have boosted Hawkers call rate with all the flooding jobs
It was good to see rain, rare sight up here at roxby, had 70mm in 4 hrs, along with the best lightning storm i have ever seen. It was still 25deg during the night, felt like darwin.
I dont think anyone is too worried about the damage the rain caused.....The rain itself outweighs the damage it seems
it was nice to get rain filled my water tanks and watered the garden and we did some sandbagging in the wee small hours :|
