Speaking to a couple of Burnside's finest the other day and they reckon it's all but signed off on them getting a Scania or Ovlov built to their specifications. Who knows could be bull shite but i'm just wondering why would a certain brigade (if this is true) get such better treatment that other brigades out there far busier than them??? I think it's a good way of de-moralising the service and putting some brigades on the "were to good to have the same equipment as you pedestal". But if they get one good on them hopefully CFS will buy more of them if they are a better truck??

That begs the question, where is the unmarked Isuzu type 2 going?

If they do it will set a precedent and opens the door for us to get more of them.....but they are always on their pedestal

Before this gets too out of hand it should be noted that Burnside is pushing for this truck to be the standard pumper in busy suburban hills interface brigades so i'm sure all of you will be praising burnside if one day one of these appliances rocks up on your door step and is exactly what you need for your area and conditions.

Also remember they run to jobs & do COQ to the city - Highly justifiable IMO

Nope cant say I have but Burnside arent that busy to require a scania, MB are making do with just type 2's now aparently.

I guess CFS must be flushed with funds, if it can afford to build applinaces to service another services area!
Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the ability to control it.

Yes thre is an un named type 2 around.

Mt barker still have the dennis so we will have to wait and see where the type 2 goes.

SA Firey

We dont mind Scania's as a standard appliance but a Type 2 will do :-D

Good luck to them if they get a Scania
I think it is good that some brigades/groups push the boundaries.
If they did not we would still be in the dark ages.
Funny how the brigades/groups that push the hardest are not liked by others.
But we have a lot to thank them for.

TillerMan

Yes thats right, bigger brigades that everyone winges about are the people that have got many things implemented or improved such as.....Appliances, turn out gear, RCR gear, Hazmat gear, Training, Turn out and comms systems... the list goes on.
And now everyone is using these things not realising who has put in the hard yards to get it for everyone.

Alan (Big Al)

Would be nice if you have the budget to do it!! Our group can still only afford Proban, nomex is for BA only!!
