Gday,

Just wondering whether anyone has a alarm reference or something.  In other words if you upgrade to a 2nd alarm how many trucks would you get?

The alarm responses vary according to the type of incident. Check in your station for SOP`s

Depends what to...  :wink:

medevac

second alarm for an Alarm Call actually gives you two further appliances......

medevac

SOP 2.1

Alarm levels,

Structure Fire (same response as ALarm Call)

1A = 2 app min 1x BA
2A = 2 further app min 1x BA
3A = 4 further app min 2x BA
4A = strike team + RDO

bittenyakka

How does that work when there are great distances between brigades? in our lovely state.

medevac

who cares how it works, that is the SOP for response...
not an answer for everything.

ive been to a through the roof domestic with only three appliances, therefor it was only a first alarm  :wink:

Also depends on what GROUP as well,they all seem to make their own response rules inhouse :-D

I have been to a few jobs with the fire through the roof and 3 appliances was fine, just protected exposures and water on the fire. I have no problem with 3 appliances for jobs like that.
3 CFS appliances  could be up to 20 firefighters. How many do you need for an average size house.
Why call extra brigades out??

Directly proportional to whether you have hydrants available or not,but normally 4 appliances to a confirmed structure
