A New Look for SA Fire Fighter.....
« on: January 15, 2007, 01:49:46 PM »
Hi All

We are preparing to switch over to a whole new look for SA Fire Fighter. We are also making changes to how the site is constructed. The changes will enable us to much more easily keep pace with software upgrades.

So over the next day or two you will see the site go offline while we conduct this work.

If all things go well the site should not be offline very long.

If we hit any snags we will be back when we can

we hope you like the new look! :-D

The pic is just an example to wet the appetite........ 8-)

The 'paging' and 'contact us' links on the home page appear miss aligned and hidden (white text on white background)

loaded page using default screen width and font size.

bugger... reproduced it 3 times now it looks like its ok...

Probably the menu was too wide for your screen and so wrapped itself, would have looked weird!!!!
I have shortened a few of the menu names.

Does it look ok now?

What size monitor and resolution are you running?

And internet Explorer is the worst browser ever invented! If you want to see web sites how the creator intended abandon internet explorer :x

I really highly recommend fire fox 2!!! It will give you the best and most secure web experience.

I sound like a salesman but IE really is that bad.

news.com.au|South Australia link on home page does not link to the correct address

If you goto the SACFS brigades page and click the next button (links to SAFF Links page) the images are displayed differently (looks dodgy - feel free to blame IE ;) ) and this makes the links next to the pictures difficult to read.

Displays fine if you go directly to SAFF Links from the home page.

Is it fixed now - I have changed how the content navigation takes place. With main links only.

funny that the people I know that professionally do websites all complain bitterly about IE and the mess it causes them.  I dislike IE for security reasons and use firefox.

Why is their so much space in the menus eg the general discussion now you need to scroll down more.
