I guess it's because the BOM don't predict that the severe weather conditions will reach that far south.  By the sounds of it, I would be thankful if I were in the LSE.

Robert-Robert34

Thats what the BOM said about the last severe weather a couple months back and the Lower South East ended getting bombed by a severe storm when not forecasted to get any storms at all

Based on that , LOOK OUT.  :-o

Maybe the Bereau just assume that the LSE should expect crap weather anyway. :-D

Robert-Robert34

Thats true calspec if i can remember that severe weather we had was my first ever storm spotters report which i submitted to the Mount Gambier BOM weather station the day after :-D....... if the LSE does get severe weather i better be ready incase my pager sounds for a call out

Well at present the northern side of Adelaide is copping a hammering and very heavy rain in the hills.SES have opened SCC and the pager site is showing lots of storm damage already and the worst is yet to come. :-o

bascially in my local area:
Around 8:30-9pm  Lobethal, Woodside, Oakbank was certainly getting a hammering...with visibility down to about 3 car lengths in front.   Flooding of water on roads is also causing a hazard in the main street of oakbank.  but everyone seems to be slowin down and driving safely so far :)

SA Firey

BOM site is showing Woodside and surrounds has already had 10-24mm but thats good for the catchments anyway

The Lower South East got a little taste of whats yet to come last night around 11pm :-)i even managed to see some cloud-cloud lightning and that knocked the power off for a couple of seconds followed by a massive crack of thunder  :-o

It looks like the Lower South East is in for one rip snorter of a night tonight if what i seen last night is a warning of whats to come  :| :-o

I was away in the Clare Valley region during the recent storm event. But I heard 311+ tasks processed through SES SCC. The Henley & Semaphore jetties are damaged. Partial closure of Commercial Road at Pt Noarlunga due to the Onkaparinga River flooding over its banks due to the storm tide. Some fantastic work done by CFS & SES at Bikenhead / St Kilda area.
Andrew Macmichael
lives at Pt Noarlunga South.

My personal opinion only.

piriejono

We sandbaged one house here in Port Pirie Due to the tide last night so yes good work all round to all services.
