hey

i know dress uniforms have been discussed elsewhere on here, but i was wondering, why don't each region have sets for hire? They are only worn by most every once in a while. When I joined the CFS i was surprised that this hadn't happened already.

Another way of CFS making money out of its Volunteers...

medevac

well.... honestly why do vollies need there own set?

you say another way for the CFS to make money out of vollunteers... i think its fair enough to make them pay, otherwise it would end up being another way for the cfs to waste money.

Toast

Because some vollies attend functions that would require the wearing of a decent dress uniform. Brigade polos and t shirts only go so far...

The price needs to be looked at its way out of reach for some members. The dress uniform is a good way to do public displays with other members in turn out gear that way the public get to see all the uniforms that we wear..

And although the Khaki might be an... odd colour, its better than three or four styles of turnouts, a few more styles of t shirts, and godknows what else.

Camo

How about we get the operational side working properly before we worry about looking good.

Think a business type suit looks just as professional for formal events..

Don't believe Vollies need the dress uniform.

IMO.

So what are you saying corecutter the dress uniform is only for staff???? Its for all members and not just for a few who can afford it,if we remove the dress uniform then once again we have lost a part of cfs history......

corecutters

Did I say the dress uniform is only for staff?  Clearly not. I said we don't need it... Now is where I explain.. Eg - Spend however much for it to sit in the cupboard for 3 or 4 years, and the time it does come up where such a thing could *possibly* be appropriate to be worn, a suit will do the same job..

If you want to go and buy it, then go for it...
