CFS Calander
« on: August 13, 2006, 02:07:17 PM »
Gday,

Wouldnt it be great to have a 12 month calander with a different cfs picture on each month?

Maybe it could be run by the media department and thru the volunteer mag.

People submit there photos and then 12 are selected and printed.  Could be preordered so no wastage would occur.

what do people think?

Also what ever happened to those big wall calanders the CFS used to produce?

don't P_F, then we'll all have to go on manuels fitness plan!

seriously, i reckon that calendar would be done entirely by 4 photographers, their initials being PM, AH, MM & EC  it would be a region 1 fest!

Sounds good camo, about time we had a CFS one and it would be good to look at brigades from all over the state.

Maybe the "Hall of Shame" to rival the MFS "Hall of flame" calender.

LOL

Sure thing with 450 brigades and 17,000 volunteers every group could have there own pin ups,and brigades could do their own for fundraising, and as we are a equal opportunity employer its open to all....women in CFS :-D :-D

SASESVA have been producing a calendar for the past few years which advertises SES.

This months picture is a person using a quickcut on metal and last months picture was a person in BA entering a confined space area vertically. Other pictures in this years and previous years calendar include storm incidents, road crash rescue, flood incident and boat rescue equipment.

The calendar is produced by 'CountryWide Media' who produce the Frontline magazine and has company sponsorship. The calendar is free.

Obviously you haven't looked at the state budget - SES has a lot less money than any other ESO!!!!

The reason SES seam to be able to do it is because their association gets off it's bum and is proactive!

I have often looked at the SES mag and calender and wondered why the VFBA doesn't canvas for sponsors like the SES donkey. does - then we could have a free mag and calender too - plus with the VFBA running them they would be the voice of the volunteer, not just another HQ publication, editorial, information session etc - good to see our glossy Volunteer mag, however would be nice to see 50 percent plus of it being driven by Vols :-)

So, start sending your photos in to the VFBA with a note attached saying "For next years CFS calendar"...

Each brigade has a VFBA delegate so if all of them go to the next VFBA meeting someone should make a motion to get a CFS Calendar happening instead of the boring wall planners we have now
