I was told all fire services should be using a red/white check, I think I might have seen it in an AFAC standard somewhere.... but I cant remember....

Personally think red/white looks better anyway.

The idea has some potential firetruck, but the question is, would it be worth having 2 logo's so similar? Do you think the taxi logo would look slightly more proffesional with white instead of yellow?

PF_

Yep, make it red and white and give us red white stripes  :-)

TillerMan

Red and white stripes would be good but just scrap the stupid logo and go back to the old crank one.

Mike, I think the suggestion was to use the red and gold chequers on trucks, but leave the logo unchanged. (You would be changing the truck decoration, not the logo), so we wouldn't have 2 similar logos, just the old one.

Then it would be too similar to the CFA logo, and we can't have that! :P

I think that might even be an international standard - red and white for fire - added yellow for rescue. SAMFS follow that standard...

That makes a little more sense!

Hmm..... so the majority of the trucks should still have red/white then..... Interesting, if it is international, wonder why they chose to ignore it??

Who cares if we have a logo that looks like CFA - they still have poxy red trucks with limited crew protection and alike!!!!!!

Would be nice to see CFS adopt the standard!
Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the ability to control it.

medevac

hmmm actually CFA have some damn nice trucks too  :-D

CFS_Firey

So do SAMFS... why don't we adopt a logo similar to theirs? :P

CFS_Firey

Yeah, that was my point...
eh! life happens...

TillerMan

We already have a logo like SAMFS its just that some idiot decided to also use a second logo which makes us look like a taxi service.

Nice Red and Blue light taxi!!

Conveniently fitted with hoses and water to hose the spew out after a Friday and Saturday night! :-D

Think of the extra people you could transport.... :-P
The views I express are my own, and not necessarily of the service I represent!

Has anyone seen the star logo printed in reflective print?  I think part of the reason the new logo looks more "professional" than the star one is because its shiny... what if the star logo was shiny? :?

just a thought...

SA Firey

What colour was a firetruck when you were a kid?

RED!!!

So who the *X#*0#*X said we had to have a white one....let alone what logo we have :-D

I like the white trucks, they make us look different to the paid service, as in Queensland where the vollies have yellow ones.. But it would be intresting to find out why the old EFS had red, yet we have white now??

Now did not SA go to white cfs appliances after ASH WEDNESDAY because white was best seen at night?? and was not the person who signed the paper over to say all cfs appliances where to be white a EX VICTORIAN????.... It is true that the CFA do make a mean pumper and their new rural appliances are not too bad as well.... Mind you I am also a ex vic...

Anyway, do people think the CFS should re-stripe the entire fleet to the red/yellow checker so we dont look like a half-assed fire service?
Don't look back. Something might be gaining on you.
