Now, I'll put up a cash incentive for the first person to drive Dalkieth 34P (the one with the 38mm monitor on the front(, up to, and in to a rear mounted pumper...

have a sense of humour mate, we dont it too be too sterile in here.

Manuel

it has started to suck because someone needs to come up with some intresting threads, it was a good idea with the hypothetical incidents, but there is only a certain amount you can write about.  :|, keep up with the fresh ideas

well look at it mate... i started this thread just to have a blast and say what utter crap most threads have become, and it becomes a thread about internet pedophiles and mating firetrucks?

its just that i was udner the impression that the site was about firefighting discussion, and that all supposed 'humor' was to be kept in the humor zone with only the occasional overflow

there is some good entertaining material and discussion on here, but unfortunately a lot tuns to cr ap.

I have noticed from old threads these seem to deviate a lot more, but that happens.  Just keeps conbversation flowing and if it gets too far off track we form a new thread, most of the time.

We still get osme good topics, but some take them off track and they turn to shick.  Most of it is good though.

Toast

Sorry, I'll keep my truck rooting fetish quiet...

But yes, the topics do seem to deviate a lot.

I'd suggest that 98% of people here are overopinionated idiots, who frankly, don't know what the #!$%&* they are talking about.

I think that's a bit harsh a a bit high... perhaps 94%... now, as for the other 6%ers...

I think some people have forgotten why we joined the CFS in the first place,to provide a service to the community, and fellow comrades when the call goes out!!!

It doesnt matter how many calls you do a year,or how many appliances you have,or better equipment we all wear the yellow guernsey for the same reason.

Hands up those who went to Sydney,KI,Eyre Peninsula,Burra etc?

We all went to do what?........provide support for our communities and  fellow comrades when they needed us.
This forum wasnt put here to bag other brigades or members so lets stick to the job!

Did you know the CFS is currently trialling a system by which they stack procedures, red tape and general bureaucracy in front of a fire. Initial tests have shown that the fire reels backwards, promptly extinguishes itself and apologies. The fire then fills out form 54a asking for permission to reignite.

oh by the way, form 54a has to be filled out in black pen using block letters. The block letters cannot at any time go outside the boxes. and the form also has to be filled out in triplicate.

CFS_Firey

Not to mention that the fire has to seek permission from both region and state HQ to acquire the form, and has to fill out 3 separate risk assessments on filling out the form, re-igniting, and then continuing to burn, before the form will be faxed to it...

Firefrog

And then the form will be misplaced at region and the fire will be requested to re-submit.....But in the mean time another fire has successfully submitted it's form and is now inline for a beautiful new chain reaction which should have gone to the original fire.  :-D

CaptCom

ooh..you are a cynical bunch..nothing like paperwork to get in the way of the physical stuff

after my time in the coronial...we need to do even MORE paperwork to make sure our butts are covered...I think that we need to carry dictaphones and notebooks to keep track of it all...maybe a personal assistant, shredder and filofax..photocopier and scanner..did I miss anything??  :?

Toast

The shredder is handy for the old "I never gave the order to backburn"

I didn't recall the quote on the front page of the forum calling all of the CFS six percenters here.....

But it appears that the forum has collected it's fair share and they are vocal.

The great thing, is it shows how uneducated people are in CFS and how little "real" information is distributed below GO or Captains in CFS.

Maybe then the forum, although often off the topic does distribute some real information, you just need to sift through the ashes to find it!

maybe the GO/Capts do distribute said information but it doesn't sink in?  Isn't there an expression about those who talk (or "type" in this case) the most do the least listening? (if not there should be!)
