We usually dedicate one trainng night a month to maintenance and cleaning. The trucks are washed and cleaned after every messy job (stinkin' grass fires are a great one!!!)

Same

Our station (MFS Mt Gambier) does a minimum of 1 hour per week for station duties, appliance checks and cleaning.

Camo

Wash our truck as required.  Remember the water restrictions people!!! haha

Also sweep the station floor whenever the dirt starts to build up.  No real point in cleaning the station too often as its not a sealed shed and the dust builds up over night and stuff sweeping it on the daily.

we just go under the old "if it looks like it needs to be cleaned, we'll clean it" mentality. it works fine.

How many brigade's have taken up the offer of helping to reduce the amount of water we waste?? by that I mean how mauch water can be safed if we where to use a high pressure cleaner rather than run out a garden hose?? or have you installed a rain water tank for cleaning of appliances and to save the water that sometimes come's out of the town mains?? did you know that the goverment will help community groups with the cost of installing water tanks so as to save water?????

Why waste your time with things like that. We use the simple bucket and sponge with that truck cleaner stuff. Works fine, if a couple of ya do it it takes 20 mins tops. best of all is you only use about 10 litres of water!

We are the same as Camo...we have all dirt to and from the station..it's very hard to keep the appliance clean..we've implemented a policy that if it's wet and muddy, take the truck for a run another day...no point in making it filthy!   :-D
