off topic a bit, when cars are going to fast just make out that you are going to drop the STOP/SLOW sign on the car, wave it at them on a angle , it works

not always!

had a woman ran over an eflare at an RCR on a real dark night, turns out she was yapping on the phone. typical moron driver.

Was at a RCR today, lady drove through road block cops took number and booked her...... about time

CaptCom

Yes, perhaps if more were booked they would think twice about doing it...

It's easy for Rural guys to forget that they aren't in a paddock and there is traffic to consider sometimes too..

had a drunk ignore our traffic control and continue through a while back... CFS OIC blasted her, SAAS blasted her (after almost being run over) and then the copper blasted her and booked her... mind you she was fairly well pissed...

^^originially we thought it was just a case of DWF before we found out she was DUI also...

Reading this thread has confirmed my own thoughts as an appliance driver...the public are all STUPID :x

Take their vehicle details and report them everytime after an incident and eventually the Police will have a blitz on it

yes the public is stupid, we once had this person stop in the middle of the road instead of pulling over :-o

Some time ago I did an exercise with Virginia CFS regarding the lights fitted to appliances in particular the 24P's when thay first came out, highlighting the inadequacy of the revolving beacons fitted to them, after a near miss when a vehicle almost took the nose off our appliance going to a job.
Nothing short of slapping a hazard notice on the vehicle we did the following to Virginia's appliance as a trial.
Fitted 2 x Mini Viewpoints to the roof red/blue with clear oscillators 2 x GS2 strobes to the front steps,2 x Strobes to the rear in place of the old Hella cheapies.Result 360 degree vision and instant recognition of the appliance from all sides.

Arthur from CFS HQ was told of the trial to which he said yes you can put them on but at BRIGADES EXPENSE :x

Good to see they expect the public to see a Hella beacon in daylight 10 feet above the road..gotta wonder :-(

IM SORRY OFFICER BUT I DIDNT SEE THE FIRETRUCK!!!!!
