I am doing an income assignment for maths and need to know how a SAMFS firefighter recieves their pay, whether it be straighht into their bank account etc.  Is there any SAMFS F/F's that could help me out with this?  ALso, how overtime is paid and calculated?

Also, are there any police officers or SAAS paramedics on this forum that could also give the same information?

PM me with the information or post it here for interest sake.

Thankyou,
Peter

P.S, Appologies for posting this a bit late, but its due this Thursday, damn school schedulers.

IN all honesty mate, ring up MFS / SAPOL / SAAS agencies tomorrow, ask to talk to payroll, explain the same thing u wrote here.. You will get clear and correct info, and alot quicker than from on here...

Which might not be clear and correct any way...

Forums are great, but when its coming to a school assignment... Id probably ring them straight..  You can then quote that all figures and information is from the source.. and not 15 peoples opinions / beliefs off a forum...

Well. thats how i'd do it any way.

Good luck..

Sent MFS, SAPOL and SAAS an email on Thursday asking for info but last time I emailed SAPOL for work expereince they took about 2 weeks to reply.  MFS are usually pretty quick to reply with info, but they prolly dont want to spend time emailing this kind of info.  Might give them a buzz tomorrow see what they have to say.  Will have spare time during Work Education class, but there'd be someone there around 1630ish when I get home if cant ring them then.

Gave them a call just then, got all the information I need.

For those that are interested the salary is put straight into bank account through EST and SAPOL can ahve it put into any account they choose and can even have money put in to take off the mortgage.  Dunno if all do that, but SAPOL gave the most information on it.  Overtime is worked out for time and a half for the first hour (MFS), 3 hours (SAPOL) and 2 hours (SAAS).  THen double time after that for all services.

Should have asked MFS for a recruitment package.

Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the ability to control it.

Nah, I also enquired about how the lesbain hookers are paid as well.

Yeah it is late, driving back from Blackwood in this weather does something to the mind. :-P

Understand that the MFS retain guys have been waiting for a pay rise for the past year or so and if they get it they will be back paid for 1 year...
