CFS is all over the state and people have been all over the state.  So where are the best hot spots for food?

As mentioned in a serious topic (dont wanna clog it up) Tailem Bend chicken and chip shop is the best!  Also for the best burger with the lot go to Lyndoch with Birdwood a close runner up. :-)

The Clarendon Bakery rocks (so does the Royal Oak Hotel just up the road), also the Port Elliot Bakery is always worth stopping at.

OK, the Wirrabarra Bakery which has just moved to the next town (can't remember which) makes incredible gourmet pies in a wood oven.

I reckon the chicken one had half a chook in it!

I'm with mattb, the Clrendon bakery is awesome, real cream in the buns :-D also the Salt Creek roadhouse (and that's Salt Creek south of Meningie, not one of the other three or four Salt Creeks around the place) does the biggest steak sangas i have seen. Half a cow and load her up with everything else you can think of!!

Speaking of real cream, Angaston Bakery Kitchener Buns are REAL!  (unlike all other places that sell them, I swear some are made of plastic)

Mmmmmmm - but theres nothing like a farmer union iced coffee and a Balfour's Custard Tart - allways good and always consistant no matter where you go in the state 8-)

Or for any time when the sun is past the yard arm - a cold Coopers

Nil payment!

Think Coopers could though - I'm a walking bilboard that their products are good (although not sure they want to advertise a great beer gut :-D :-D :-D)

as far as food in the hills you can't go past 2 places, the bakery in balhannah(my pie actually had more meat than gravy!!) and the crafers chicken shop (good food AND you get a discount if you prove you're in the CFS!

Dont bag STC food, theres some tough units up there that'll put your lights out...or poison your food. hahaha

There new slogan should be "Where the filtered hell are you"

Yes it is definitely one of the best facilities in Australia.

Great range of training facilities/props/sites - with just about everything fire/rescue/emergency services could need and better still probally the most environmentally conscious facilities around. The only thing it misses is a rubble pile (there are heaps there just not for training he he)

Truly a sensational facility and the foods great too  :-D :-D :-D
