Looks like someone from Laura may have also been monitoring the pager stream, or this forum!

That seems a more appropriate method of notifying members of security changes. :-D

Yes We Used To Do It Via The Pager, However Now Have Changed The Means Of Transfer Because Of The Pager Site. Don't Get Me Wrong The Site Is Good & Don't Want It To Go Away, Just Some People Need To Know When Sending Pager Messages That The Information Is Available To The Public.  Including Messages To GO's Regarding Strike Teams & Other Important Stuff.

need to make up a special code for it then... like the first letter of each word... or maybe the number of letters in the words stand for the numbers in the code...

If MVL24 was responded to Willunga, it is possible that it suffered wind damage to the doors - blown shut by strong winds.  It was not the only appliance to suffer as such.  Even cab doors got blown shut.

The inferred tone could have been "this could be a tough job try to smile"

Hard to read intention and tone in text.

How about some not so amusing pager messages - the other night just before 3am we got the More Crew message come out from our alpha unit at station over and over again about 15 seconds apart for about 35 minutes. No explanations - just SOC advised we had to ride it out!
Apparently it's happened before. Now, I work nightshift and so does the Captain but everyone else took their battery out to get some sleep - glad we didn't have a job that night :-)

Noone in our Brigade has the unread message tone activated because it chews through batteries so much. That wasn't the problem - we actually had about 100 separate pages come through!

As for setting to silent - same diff - just easier to take out battery when you in bed and it's 3am :-)

Yeah, I guess.  I keep mine on unread alert, been told to just change the battery about every month...

Why did you not just unplug your encoder?

We had the same problem, just sent it away and it was all good. It is happening alot lately...

Had to send ours away some time ago for repairs.  If you unplug the decoder all it means is you won't have a siren (if you use one).
Looks like the decoder bugs are slowly making their way around the state

Lucky for me our brigade hasnt got an encoder linked to the siren but the way things are going at the moment we might have the siren set off with the pagers like it used to be before SAGRN paging came into effect so many years back

Hey Kat,

Our Alpha Unit The Exact Same Thing Pretty Much At The Exact Same Time, There Is A Fault With The Units We Had To Disconnect It, Advised Our GO, He Advised Where To Send It.  Has Something To Do With The Moisture In the Air Thats Why It Goes Off Like That During The Night.

I Believe Firmware Has Something To Do However There Was Also Something To Do With The Reason They Go Off At Like 3am.
