is it normal for things to happen in this order??

apart from the obvious cockups, I am not sure why 2 brigades COQ warrants a SIGINC page either

Zippy

yeah. its not, that significant.

Im not sure why half the SIGINCs have been sent lately... ie; $80,000 housefires, shedfires etc... the requirements for a SIGINC are set out clearly  enough in SOPs.

MFS are allowed to call up to three CFS brigades for change of quarters before havign to even speak to the CFS, they should just be paged by Adelaide Fire. So not sure what happened there... all looks very strange on face value though.

SAPOL are pretty light on for staff out here in the country areas. Makes sense for CFS/SES to be used for traffic control rather than drain sapol resources from long distances for such a task.

CFS will slowly get into more First Responding for SAAS in the short term future i can see, with more and more brigades investing in Defibs, better First aid kits and Oxygen, makes sense.

Its really not worth it Zippy, unless someone is planning on having an accident and requiring the correct equipment, being on hand to help!
Why would we as a service need that sort of equipment, having ageing mostly unfit firefighters involved in high stress firefighting or other activities on stinking hot days or slippery wet roads at accident scenes, I personaly dont see the need for it!
Next you will be asking for all appliances to have proper burn over protection, you kids of today want everything, why back in the good ol days we just died quietly  :-D

I've only got the 2006 version handy but it's SOP 3.8 in that.

standby for gross misuse of the paging system...

Brigades and Captains will probably now be "grossly miss-useing" the pager system once again, inviting members to adhoc new years eve get togethers and thanking members for their efforts in 2008 :-D aint it great!
