So that raises the question what were they doing out there at that time of night?

...going for a drive, getting some food, passerby, off duty & near home, looking at stars, going home, see the girlfriend, wife, husband, etc, etc...who cares...the job was done & the community (hopefully) was happy...

...sorry I'm still at work on Friday night & grumpy...

my brigades managed to get a new member all cos of the fire siren saying "hey everyone we're still here", but im sure there was more to it...maybe just hesitant to join, i was at first bit of a leap frog to gain the guts to join ;).

It is a great recruitment tool.

Just because the operator works in a ComCen in Adelaide doesn't mean he doesn't know the local crews personally!

1909195 18:40:30 08-11-07 TANKER IS NOW OFF LINE UNTIL IT CAN BE JUMP STARTED, DUE TO VHF BEING LEFT ON. WE ARE NOW DOWN TO 1 APPLIANCE. THANKS RAY FOR ORGANISING IT FOR TOMORROW.LT2 CFS: Salisbury
Don't you guys use isolators & trickle chargers? If you don't no what I'm talking about have a look at the RHS of the SES Isuzus

salisbury does have isolators on all trucks BUT for some reason the vhf on tanker is not isolated by it and has its own switch that needs to be turned off.

we had the same problem the other day, someone forgot to isolate our 24, which had the crew push starting it to get a second appliance out for a grassfire...

always ammusing.
