Its in another post re tomorrows fire ban but that was as a result of the second alarm fire at Fox Creek due to a burnoff out of control,which left them with nothing at Gumeracha.

It was a Priority 1 COQ :wink:

that bus trip was one of the craziest ever, getting sideways coming out of that corner was funny.

best memories are:

psycho SES guy who said "should we just punch through it?" while sitting back on track in mazda 4wd waiting for fire to burn over road we had to travel down.

watching parndana 24p pretty well drive through a burn over. we were watching the crowning flames starting to come across the road when all of a sudden you just see a truck come through the flames.

eating self heating meal watching fire travel through gully on the back of lenswood 24

sleeping in parndana area school

"dogs" kearney taking over base camp, turning the place pretty well into an army base. (you gotta love this guy. anyone thats met him will know what i mean)

getting a puncture in duncan gosse 24s only to find spare had a huge gash in sidewall too

our "hot" changes (MUND will know what im on about here)

Parndana 24p (great truck, still had RCR gear on board for some reason :?)

sitting in a quiet, dark valley by ourselves blacking out a tree when the electrics on parndana 24p decide to play funny buggers. driver tries to start pump and all the lights go out.

returning to staging point in parndana 24p. driver was instructed to turn off parny 24p. driver turns it off and cant restart it. hilariously, victor harbor group car gives parny 24p a rolling start with tow cable. a funny thing to see

going to bed 2 hours earlier than everyone else because of our mechanical faults

doing nothing all day except playing footy and decontaminating trucks.

2 free beers for each CFS member at parny pub (an awesome pub, and good food)

nearly missing bus due to dinner and beer at pub!

overall, a funny and unique trip. For all the problems, i'd probably go again.
