Be careful not to read too much tone into posts. I did not read any malice in backburns reply, perhaps you did.

My advice is to err on the side of a good natured response :-D

There was no malice intended as I am a one finger writer and hit the wrong keys all the time.   :-D

Yes we once recieved a "stop call" page at 4am over tone 7 for an MVA and we didn't get the initial response message.  When i called SHQ and told them they hadn't even realised we hadn't got the initial message, luckily it was only a very minor prang or could have been very embarrasing

just turning out without actually going through a commcen...

in this case it meant that there was not a 1st alarm HAZMAT response filled for a good 10-15 minutes when it should have been....

Manual turnout was initiated as obviously crews were listening in to the job on GRN and had a heads up before they got the response page...no harm in that everyone does it during fire season

SAFIREY - are you talking about for the HAZMAT job?

in this case, the call didnt go through a commcen correctly, which would have sent two Hazmat and a fire brigade immediately... instead, it appears one brigade has turned themselves out, 10 minutees later Burnside HAZMAt was sent, and then a bit later Blackwood turned themsleves out?

what intrigues me further is that blackwood have obviously responded, yet the sig inc page says only eden and burnside. is this coz blackwood weren't needed there or what. would think main road blackwood would be blackwoods response area, hell, everywhere else in sturt group seems to be  :-D!

firetruck I think the reason Blackwood was responded was for extra BA
HAZMAT INCIDENT IN BWD REQUIRED BA CREW PLS ATTEND STN BWD CPT
Possible that Eden did not have enough BA, just speculation

mmm buyt if eden didnt have enough BA operators... then surely they are too be used for some part of the HAZMAT? therfore should be more HAZMAT operators... not just good old BA.

FIRETRUCK - going by that i would simply presume that SOCC didnt know Blackwood were attending, as the only turnout via the right channels seems to have been for Burnside.
