Too true Darius....sad really isn't it
How do you tell where the messages go, or are from :?

Darius

the pager capcode (1909791) tells you who received it.  You can't tell who sent it (well not generally anyway, HQ usually can find out if they want to).

Mike

The cap codes suposedly havent been released though, so most people wouldnt recognise them....

Well its like this....we have a tin shed as a station - no toilets no seating no tv or vcr.

I am showing a video for Training so here is comfy, warm and it has all the necessaries.

all CFS cap codes are listed in a CFS GRN pager fleetmap so that the big fellas can keep track of whats going on and ensure response paging messages go to the right place.....

would be interested to know how Darius knows who it is though as rthis list shouldnt be public i wouldnt think???

SA Firey

If the brigade/station etc had put their ID in the Airsource Software it would display the sender's id at the end of the message

So in other words we can't tell who the messages are going to :?

people have been watching since GRN paging was introduced, the commonly used capcodes are not hard to work out (particularly over time), some are lucky/educated guesses (hint try scanning sites).  An easy way if you run your own paging decoder is to save the daily monitor file then you can search for a particular capcode through those files.  It's often obvious what the capcode is for.
