Yes - very unwise to act on anything that was not addressed or intended for you. Ok to paste things here for a chuckle but take it no further.

The chimney thing might have been a chimney fire, people dont have fires going in the middle of summer.

but how would the chimney fire have started if the fire place wasnt lit.... but yeh they do around that area... friken cold some times even in summer.

much as I hate to inject some facts into all the speculation...

one reason for having a fire in summer is some people have a
range to provide hot water.

But in this case it is a heritage listed, vacant, locked up
cottage (technically owned by SA Water).  The interior could
have been on fire and the chimney the only place for the smoke
to escape.  Local residents rang the local captain who rang MFS
and requested the turnout.

Hopefully they will check their PPE incl boots before putting them on. Would hate a passenger to show itself has they are getting dressed, or while they are on the truck  :-o

I hope they had there boots on before they got on the truck.

I dunno though, thought CFS were ment to be environmentally friendly.... taking a perfectly good home away from the snake! It would have kept any rodent issues down to ;)
(tongue in cheek) lol

If the kids doesn't, the parents and teachers of the school will if you read the pager message at face value. :-D
