Word filter
« on: July 29, 2005, 01:35:33 PM »
The word filter appears to be playing up at this point in time. Should you post any messages while this problem is being rectified, please double check them in the thread to ensure no mis-interpretations can be made.

Cheers,

Michael

Hi All

Big apologies - The word filter did go haywire and has misbehaved. It appears to have applied itself to all previous posts on the forum. This behaviour is now stopped.

You should see that any modified words are now restored.

Thanks to those who let us know about the weirdness.

Good To See It's Fixed.

In another thread questions have been raised about the word filter. If you have any questions about the sites policy please refer to the user guidelines thread and the user agreement.

From day one this site has had a no swearing policy and this will remain. We will not debate this issue. Any user circumventing the word filter is at risk of having their account disabled.

One of the principles of this sites operation is a safe and welcoming place for all types of people, that is why we have this policy.

Thanks for reading. :-D

i agree, however, there are some words that are up for debate as "swear words". I have two candidates for this catergory

1)DO NOT CIRCUMVENT THE FILTER!
2)DO NOT CIRCUMVENT THE FILTER!

these two words are commonly used words in the english language. Apart from these two the word filter is fine.

P.S. Don't ban me!!!!!

yeah yeah I understand the principle and it's your website so you can do what you like, I just wish you could have Australianised the filter first.

A gentle reminder once again.

There isnt really any need to be using words that need to be replaced with **** etc. etc. It seems to be worming its way back into day to day posts..... lets clean the act up a little (again) peoples.

Cheers,

Mike

Personally I can figure out what 'filtered' means in most cases.....

We've thrashed the issue to death before......
