Its pretty basic maths, spelling, reading comprehension, and then a whole lot of personality profiling

Anyone sitting their Abilities and Personality today? Good luck to everyone!

ssickers

Did you sit yours yesterday FireLuke?
How has everyone felt after their testing?

I sit mine on Monday morning session.
Good luck to everyone still waiting to sit theirs!

Phil.Collins99

Optimistic

Yea I have mine this Friday as well, good luck. Did they let you know what you had troubles on? Im wondering how much of the actual test is based on maths and english compared to personality/psych, what was it like last time?

80% personality. No results given from psych testing. I think I remember signing something saying results remain property of MFS or the psych provider.

Phil.Collins99

They never seem to give feedback on testing and i dont think they ever will unfortunately. Can be quite frustrating all i remember was the maths , english and basic testing wasnt too hard but its how you respond to questions in the personality stuff that really seperates the applicants.

Nah mate, I have mine on Monday too.. Getting pretty psyched!
Good luck to everyone!!!

KMatt

New here, is the abilities test and personality test similar to the SAPOL test?
Also any knowledge on female/male ratios, average age of applicants etc.
Cheers in advance!

Pac

Sat the test yesterday. Have no idea how I went on the personality testing. The academic side isn't too hard. I sat the SAPOL test last month. Maths and English is similar but less time.
Good luck everyone!

What kinda questions they ask in the abilities test? I heard he same thing a mate sat his yesterday and was saying identical to sapol test and really basic questions

I think most emergency services use a company called safe select for the profiling.

Hi all,
How has everyone found the testing so far?
I had mine on Thursday, found it quite draining.

I also found it interesting how some people left after about 45 minutes of the psych testing... must have raced through it!

Any ideas as to when we'll find out if we're through to PAT 1?

FF GAZZ

Had mine the Thursday morning session too and found that strange too as to how early they left.

The session itself almost felt like being babied through it this time with the such heavily explained steps through the process.

James8441

Agree FFGAZZ.

Although they must have had a lot of applicants that struggled to follow the instructions properly in the past - probably makes more work for them on the admin side when someone doesn't do everything properly.

Phil.Collins99

Yeah found it quite draining also , just don't understand how they seperate thousands of applicants by the personality testing seems fairly straight forward unless you strongly agree that asians run the country or say you have experimented with drugs before. haha oh well now the nervous wait good luck to all

Having experimented with drugs won't cause you to not progress. There is questions in there that are alerts so  if you say no to too many of them it flags that you may be manipulating your answers because you appear to never have made a mistake or experimented.

Lukeyv

Hey guys,
Does anyone know when the last day of testing will be?

Bootcamp

Hey guys, got my testing this friday. It states that we need to allow 5 hours for the testing, but read that guys were walking out after 45mins..how many questions is there roughly in each section?

Renny

I think the last day of testing is this Friday however I'm only speculating based on the number of applicants...

2beus

27/28th last testing sitting.
Heard from a few ppl who sat the test that it was a lot easier then 2016 testing.

tempcitz

Was exactly the same as 2016's testing.
I was the first one to leave, and i left about 10:30, after starting at 8. The last section they give you 2.5 hours for personality but you probably won't need it

KMatt

Sat the test yesterday about 80-90 males and 6 females, how many tests where held and were they Of similar size? Personality test same as SAPOL but the rest shorter and simpler. Now just the waiting game, mid Sept is meant to be when the next tests start, must be a big cull in the mean time!

Phil.Collins99

Anyone know roughly when they will start sending out Pat 1 invites / Unsuccessful emails?.
I remember 2016 there was a bit of a lengthy delay but if there planning to do the fitness testing in roughly 3 weeks I would think they would be sending these out pretty soon

ssickers

I agree, last time was a little bit of a delay.
But they were predicting PAT 1 testing to start approx Sept 17th. So could be soon hopefully, but testing is still going this week as well I believe.
