Has anyone received a beep test date other than Tuesday? Is it possible that only the Tuesday emails went out today? Holding onto some hope here.

Yeah, I wouldn't write yourself off just yet. However, even if you don't make it this time, there will be plenty more opportunities down the track. You'll have more experience for the psyc test and an appreciation for how hard it is to get in. Also don't limit yourself to self to SAMFS. CFA will be recruiting soon and there are professional fire services in every state. It's disappointing to not make it. It's more disappointing to give up altogether. Congrats to everyone who made it to the next stage.

I'm assuming that people doing it on Tuesday have been ranked in alphabetical order now considering my last name is one of the first letters of the alphabet. Previous e-mail from MFS said that beep test will go for 4 days. not sure how many would go through a day...

It's not in alphabetical order. Email also said everyone would find out by 8th

Unless they've made a list and only notified a certain amount today for PAT1 testing on the 15th, I didn't make the cut.

Congratulations to all who made it through. See you out there next time, whenever that may be.

How do you think it's ranked then? I did my test quite late, well in the middle.

No idea. Aptitude scores? Totally random? Date of birth? Who knows.

Hi everyone, haven't posted in here for 6 years.
I haven't received an email either, this being my 6th attempt I'm beginning to believe I'm not the right person for this career. Super frustrating process for all those that want it so much.

I wonder if the emails and PAT1 dates are exactly 7 days apart. Today's email is for next Tuesday. Tomorrow for next Wednesday, Thursday ... etc.
I doubt it, but I am giving hope to all those (including myself) that didn't receive an email today. Congratulations to those who did. Top effort!

I hear ya mate, 4th time for me and no email this time around. Have passed the psych test before, so not sure if it's me that's changed or if the goal posts have but it's very frustrating. That's just the game we're playing though, it can't be an easy job knocking a couple of thousand applicants down to just a handful. Hopefully some more emails get sent today. Good luck and well done to those who got one yesterday

Morning all, I play indoor soccer at the MFS city headquarters on Wednesday's and next week's game is cancelled.  We received the following email on the 27th October:

"Dear Captains, Please note we have been informed today by the MFS that the gym is unavailable from 14/11 to 17/11 inclusive"

Myself and a mate are yet to receive an email like a most of you - he did his psych assessment on the 5th and I did mine on the 10th October.  Both our surnames are towards the end of the alphabet (fingers crossed).

Got the same email. I find it strange that some people have been given beep test invites if they are still processing large amounts of data from personality/abilities tests. How can there be a ranking if not all results have been processed???
Strange!!

I received my PAT1 email last night but have heard along the grapevine that it hasn't been finalised yet - possibly only Tuesday's runners have been notified so sounds like still hope left. My mate also got an email and our last names are at opposite ends of the alphabet. I sat profiling on the 4th and he was on the 10th so no rhyme or reason it seems. All the best to everyone still waiting.

Probably those ranked highly suitable have received theirs and they are finalising the rest with diversity taken into account.

I tend to agree with Ferret. The most suitable 180ish applicants from the personality profiling/ability test have been notified and they are now possibly sorting through the remainder to create a pool of another 200 or so to call on if required as they did in the previous intake.

They could probably run all the PAT 1 testing  on the Tuesday. In previous intakes they have tested 6 groups of 6 people in a 90 minute period. That's 36 per sessions. 5 sessions over the course of a working day would test all 180ish applicants.

This recruitment drive seems to be more streamlined than previous ones so I doubt they would be dicking around and have it string out any longer than it has to.
