I've recently registered on these forums, as I've been looking at these forums for many years now, and I thought that it was about time that I were to create an account... So, this is my very first post 
Does anyone happen to know the current rank structure of the SAMFS? And, it would be fabulous if you could also tell me approximately how long until you can be promoted through the ranks...?

Each level of Firefighter is basically 12 months
Recruit squad 14 weeks
4th class ff 12 months from start of recruits
3rd class ff 12 months
2nd class ff 12 months
1st class level 1 12 months
1st class level 2 12 months
1st class level 3 12 months
Senior Firefighter ( min 2 years before eligible for Station officer application)
Station officer
Commander
