SES money to throw around? you must be thinking of another service, we get far far less than the CFS does.

I don't think the building is the problem for Lobethal....

Yep, its the retiree's/developers living within 20m of the fire siren...

Pretty sure relocation is going to be interesting.

pretty sure the fire siren was there first....looking at the satellite picture that is a pretty appalling piece of town planning. I'm guessing you are going to end up with a roadway thru the middle of what was your car parking space. Only way to win this is to play it out in the media, get the community onside (hint for the CFS media types...."Hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars wasted to appease a greedy developer - Life Saving Fire Siren to be silenced" )....no use pussy footing around - should never have been approved that close to start with. Council deserves a kick in the quoit, as does CFS for not objecting to the plan in the planning approval phase. Appalling filtered up really, hope it goes well for the Brigade (but cant see how it will) - as always, we'll get shafted cos we never fight back. As for hoping for a Main St Station (and next to a Bakery mind you!!!...lol), good luck with getting Safecom to come up with the extra $$ when they could get a block in Shitsville on the edge of town

Definitely agree with you on that one, the fit out is reasonable for a brigade that size.

Starting from scratch will only be wasting valuable members time.

Believe they only in the last 12 months renovated the radio room.

The only perceived tight space is the turnout gear area, which probably could double to allow OHS complaint access and more members.

----

IF they end up having a new station...

A morphett vale replica would be pretty suitable, 4 doors, two each end.

Onkaparinga Bulk water carrier might even have a CFS home..
