Hi, I would like to know what the physical test involves? Thanks in advance

For B Rating all you need to do is pass a physical involving blood pressure, cholesterol, back strength, lung capacity (all pretty standard) and then a 3k walk with a 10kg pack in 30 minutes. you definitely don't need to be that fit, but, just not very unfit. Something along those lines. For a rating you need to do a 20kg pack for 4.5ks in 45 minutes. The hardest part is getting past the initial screening agency. They are interested I'm if you have any skills/trades/licences as when burn season is off (seems to be getting longer each year) there's plenty of fire track, verge, and maintenance work to do around the parks, bases, and wherever else. Chinny it pays if you've got Level 1 or BFF1,Senior First Aid, Plantation Fire Fighting 1 and experience as a CFS volunteer

Do ya get given a box of matches in some sort of induction pack?

I was a lil bit unfit the last time i went for the pack hike so im guessing they have trimmed it back from 3.22 to 3 kms which is about 7 laps

Found out today, that nest week is when short listed applicants will be contacted and interviews are from the 16th to 18th of July for people in Adelaide. Medical and Fitness test sometime not long after to be ready for the 3rd of September start date.

Well I have been short listed and have my interview and medical for senior project firefighter on monday next week.
